Will liposculpture work for cellulite?
Some people often mistakenly call local fatty accumulations over the thighs cellulite, and these can definitely be helped with Liposculpture. True cellulite which almost exclusively occurs in women, and has a hormonal causation, is a localised dimpling of the skin occurring over the thighs and buttocks. It is due to the distribution of fibrous bands within fatty tissue.
Many avenues of treatment have been tried to treat this condition. These include division of the fibrous bands, superficial Liposuction with fat transfer, ultrasound both internal and external, and the use of a machine that alternatively massages and sucks the problem area externally on the skin.
The level of success is quite variable. At present, no technique can reliably treat this problem with any degree of permanence, and so any treatment has to be ongoing to maintain improvement. In situations where excess fatty tissue is also the problem, removal of this may well improve the overall appearance, and this in combination with our dietary advice, and nutritional supplementation, can be enduring. |
