Does the fat come back?

When fat is removed by Liposculpture or Liposuction, fat cells are physically removed. Most authorities agree that fat cells do not divide to any significant degree after the end of puberty. Accordingly, the fat cells in the areas treated by Liposculpture do not increase in number.

It is possible, however, for the fat cells to increase in size if one should seriously overeat after the procedure. In this case there will be a general accumulation of fat, (an increase in the average size of the fat cells) all over the body, but it will be proportional, not just in the areas treated, so that the shape by Liposculpture would be maintained. It would still be much improved and more balanced.

It is important to maintain a sensible, low fat diet and a continued, varied exercise program after the procedure in order to, maintain your cardiovascular fitness and tone your new body shape. To assist in this, at Ashbrooke, we can offer the services of our Naturopath and integrative Practitioner.
